Tutorial Sessions
Energy experts presented overview lectures to the Student Congress participants on the first day of the 2011 World Materials Summit to provide a basic understanding of the energy and sustainability landscape.  

Keynote and Plenary Presentations
In a series of keynote and plenary presentations at the 2011 World Materials Summit, energy and policy experts presented overviews of materials research developments and challenges related to energy, sustainable development, and water. 

Expert Panel Sessions and Reports 
As part of the 2011 World Materials Summit, nine panels of experts met on energy-related subtopics to outline a vision for the future in each area. They outlined major materials challenges that need to be addressed to achieve their visions, and ways that international collaboration, policy, outreach and education can facilitate such progress.

Student Congress Panel Sessions and Reports 
As part of the 2011 World Materials Summit, a Student Congress was held, consisting of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows selected through a highly competitive process from applicants based around the world. The Congress organized into five panels to discuss critical challenges in energy and water that need to be addressed, and ways that international collaboration, market understanding, education and advocacy can facilitate progress.
