The MRS awards program strives to acknowledge outstanding contributors to the progress of materials research and to recognize their exciting and profound accomplishments. MRS awards include the Von Hippel, Turnbull Lectureship, MRS Medal, Materials Theory Award, MRS Fellows, MRS Postdoctoral Awards, Outstanding Young Investigator Award, Innovation in Materials Characterization Award, Kavli Early Career Lectureship in Nanoscience, Graduate Student Awards and the Arthur Nowick Graduate Student Award.

University Chapters »
University chapters are a vital part of the Materials Research Society. Created on university campuses, their goal is to generate student interest in materials science. At present, MRS boasts approximately 85 active chapters throughout the world—some located at universities granting Ph.D.s; others are based at four-year colleges with strong undergraduate research programs.

The Women in Materials Science & Engineering interest group provides a forum for dialog among women (and men) working in, or pursuing education towards a profession in materials science or engineering. The goal is to share ideas and strategies that may be useful in professional life and to generate ideas for promoting awareness of women's issues to the broad professional community.
