Advocacy Events | Government Agency Sessions
MRS contributes to the development of the U.S. government's science and technology policy in materials-related areas by:
- Responding to and initiating opportunities to interact with government officials and public and private organizations on matters of science and technology policy
- Serving as a resource for reliable, unbiased technical and professional information, and
- Stimulating responsible technical discussion and facilitating the exchange of information between policy makers, materials scientists, engineers, and the public.
The following advocacy-related special events will be held at the 2011 MRS Fall Meeting:
At each meeting, we invite a number of government agency representatives to speak on current priorities and funding opportunities in materials research.
