• Renewable Energy Materials Research at Colorado School of Mines
  The Renewable Energy Materials Research Science and Engineering Center invites exceptional undergraduate math, science, and engineering students to participate in a ten-week summer research program addressing fundamental materials issues related to the science and technology of renewable energy.
   
• California Science and Technology Policy Fellowships
  Offered by the California Council on Science and Technology (CCST), the California Science and Technology Policy Fellowships place professional scientists and engineers in the California State Legislature for one-year appointments. The fellowships are ideal for qualified applicants who are interested in improving the interface between science and legislative decision-making and who want to learn the public policy decision-making process.

• Policy Fellowships - National Academies Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program
  The program is designed to engage graduate science, engineering, medical, veterinary, business, and law students in the analysis that informs the creation of science and technology policy and to familiarize them with the interactions of science, technology, and government.

  The overarching goal of the Fellowships is to increase the capacity of scientists to inform the discussions and decisions of individuals and institutions that influence or determine policies, and to provide scientific expertise and analysis to support decision-makers confronting increasingly complex scientific and technical issues.

  The ACS Science Policy Fellow gains first-hand knowledge of the operation of the legislative and executive branches of the federal government and brings scientific and technical expertise to bear on national issues.

  The Brookings Institution is encouraging applications from scientists with strong interest in foreign policy or national security issues for a year-long fellowship to work at the Institution in Washington, D.C.

  The purpose of the program is threefold -- contribute to more effective use of scientific and technical knowledge in government; provide a unique public policy learning experience and educate the earth science community about the public policy process; and broaden the perspective of the earth science and governmental communities regarding closer interactions between scientists and policy makers.
