The recipients for the 2011 Outstanding Young Investigator and the Innovations in Materials Characterization awards are announced: Dmitri Talapin of the University of Chicago; and Tye Gribb, Thomas Kelly, and David Larson of Cameca Instruments. Also, check out the MRS Apprentice Science Reporter Program and "materiales extraños," which is our Strange Matter traveling exhibit in Mexico. Featured articles include: "Hydrothermal BaTiO3 thin films from nanostructured Ti templates" (Journal of Materials Research).
