Operational and Strategic Oversight Committee
The Operational and Strategic Oversight Committee is accountable for overseeing MRS's operational and financial performance and its progress toward its strategic initiatives. It is also responsible for overseeing the operations and effectiveness of the Society's operating committees, and ensuring that volunteer involvement in the Society's programs is highly productive and satisfying. In this capacity, it is responsible for:
- Reaching agreement with the Executive Director on the key elements of a programmatic and financial reporting process, including the content, format, and frequency of performance reports to the Board, and overseeingimplementation of the process.
- Reviewing performance reports in committee meetings and reporting program and financial performance to the full Board.
- Presenting an overall assessment of the past year's fiscal and program performance at the annualstrategic work session.
- Presenting the Board with an overall assessment of all initiatives and an in-depth analysis of at least one on a semi-annual basis.
- Overseeing the administration of member/customer surveys, reviewing such surveys, and reportingsurvey results to the Board as appropriate.
- Reviewing internal and external audit reports and overseeing corrective actions.
- Reaching agreement with the Executive Director on major internal administrative system upgrades (e.g., a major MIS upgrade).
