73rd Device Research Conference (DRC 2015)

The 73rd Device Research Conference (DRC) was held at The Ohio State University June 21-24, 2015. The DRC, co-sponsored by the IEEE Electron Device Society, was coordinated with the 57th Electronic Materials Conference (EMC), held the same week. The conference provided for fruitful exchange of information between attendees.

20th International Conference on Solid State Ionics (SSI-20)

The 20th International Conference on Solid State Ionics provided essential information on the breadth and depth of current solid state ionics research worldwide. The conference featured a combination of plenary, keynote, invited and contributed talks, poster sessions and tutorials.

4th International Symposium on Graphene Devices (ISGD-4)

The International Symposium on Graphene Devices (ISGD-4), the principal meeting addressing advanced graphene applications, offered a unique forum to review the present status, the latest developments, future prospects and related fundamental studies, covering both state-of-the-art experimental and theoretical discoveries.

8th International Workshop on Zinc Oxide and Related Materials (IWZnO 2014)

This meeting brought together international researchers to discuss the current understanding of fundamental optical and electronic properties of oxide semiconductors and progress in device fabrication and characterization.

The conference was held June 25-27, 2014, at the University of California, Santa Barbara. The conference featured a plenary session, parallel topical sessions, a poster session and an industrial exhibition.

72nd Device Research Conference (DRC 2014)

The 72nd Device Research Conference (DRC), co-sponsored by IEEE Electron Device Society, was held at UC Santa Barbara from June 22-25, 2014. The DRC was coordinated with the 56th Electronic Materials Conference (EMC), held during the same week from June 25-28, 2014. This recognized the importance of interaction between device and electronic materials research and provided for fruitful exchange of information between attendees of both conferences.

American Conference on Neutron Scattering (ACNS 2014)

The 2014 American Conference on Neutron Scattering (ACNS) was held at the Crown Plaza in Knoxville, Tennessee, June 1-5, 2014. Hosted by Oak Ridge National Laboratory Neutron Sciences and sponsored by the Neutron Scattering Society of America, this seventh conference in the series featured a combination of invited and contributed talks, poster sessions, tutorials and an industrial exhibit.

New Diamond and Nano Carbons Conference (NDNC 2014)

The international New Diamond and Nano Carbons Conference (NDNC 2014) was hosted in the beautiful, vibrant and cultural capital of the Midwest, Chicago, Illinois. The conference presented high-impact scientific and technological advances, along with critical developments to enable the application of diamond, carbon nanotube, graphene and other carbon nanostructures and related materials in a diverse range of areas. This year's conference featured plenary sessions, parallel topical sessions, poster sessions and an industrial exhibition.

5th International Symposium on Growth of III-Nitrides (ISGN-5)

The 5th International Symposium on Growth of III-Nitrides (ISGN-5) was held May 18-22, 2014, in Atlanta, Georgia. ISGN-5 was organized by the Materials Research Society and was the fifth symposium in a biannual series focusing specifically on growth in III-nitride materials, nanostructures and device structures that started in 2006 (Linköping, Sweden), and continued in 2008 (Izu, Japan), 2010 (Montpellier, France) and 2012 (St. Petersburg, Russia).

7th International Conference of the Africa MRS

The 7th International Conference of the Africa Materials Research Society was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, December 8-13, 2013. Symposia themes included materials for energy and sustainability, materials for life, health and the environment, basic materials and nanoscience, materials technology, processing and metallurgy, infrastructure materials and materials education and networking.

International Conference on Nitride Semiconductors (ICNS 10)

The 10th International Conference on Nitride Semiconductors 2013 (ICNS-10) was hosted just outside historic Washington, D.C. The conference presented high-impact scientific and technological advances in materials and devices based on group-III nitride semiconductors. The conference also featured plenary sessions, parallel topical sessions, poster sessions and an industrial exhibition.

International Symposium on Integrated Functionalities (ISIF 2013)

The International Symposium on Integrated Functionalities (ISIF 2013), held every year since its inception in 1987, is the premier forum on fundamental and applied science of ferroelectric and high-dielectric constant thin films, materials integration, and design and fabrication of advanced devices. ISIF 2013 featured plenary sessions, parallel topical sessions, four tutorials, poster sessions and an industrial exhibition

55th Electronic Materials Conference

The Electronic Materials Conference (EMC) was the premier annual forum on the preparation and characterization of electronic materials. The 55th EMC was held June 26-28, 2013, at the University of Notre Dame. The conference featured a plenary session, parallel topical sessions, a poster session and an industrial exhibition. It immediately followed the Device Research Conference.

2nd International Workshop on Rare Metals

The 2nd International Workshop on Rare Metals was held Sunday, November 25, 2012, in Boston, Massachusetts. Organized by The Ames Laboratory and the Korea Institute for Rare Metals (KIRAM), the Workshop aimed to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners working on the diverse issues of rare metals, among countries worldwide, for the discussion of high-level issues and strategies to ensure secure supplies of these essential materials.

2nd Global Congress on Microwave Energy Applications

The Second Global Congress on Microwave Energy Applications (2GCMEA 2012) was held July 23-27, 2012, in Long Beach, California, and featured plenary sessions, parallel topical sessions, poster sessions, an industrial exhibition, short courses, and a Department of Energy Session titled Microwave (MW) and Radio Frequency (RF) as Enabling Technologies for Advanced Manufacturing.  

American Conference on Neutron Scattering 2012

This was the 6th conference in the series and featured a combination of invited and contributed talks, poster sessions, tutorials and an industrial exhibit.

Electronic Materials Conference 2012

The 54th Annual Electronic Materials Conference was held June 20-22, 2012, at Pennsylvania State University (PSU).  It featured over 300 oral and poster presentations and focused on the preparation and characterization of electronic materials.  Topics included energy conversion and storage materials, wide band gap materials, enabling technologies, nanoscale science and technology in materials. 

New Diamond and Nano Carbons Conference 2012

The 2012 New Diamond and Nano Carbons Conference was held May 20-24, 2012, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Plenary, talks and poster sessions focused on the scientific and technological advances in diamond, graphene and nanocarbons.

The 6th International Conference of the Africa Materials Research Society

The 6th Africa Materials Research Society biennial Conference was held December 11-16, 2011, in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. It focused on six materials research themes and key international leaders discussed recent breakthroughs and future directions. The Conference also provided an opportunity for policy, education and networking dialogue, and helped define priorities, challenges, and perspectives for materials research.

Organic Microelectronics & Optoelectronics Workshop VII

The 7th Annual Organic Microelectronics and Optoelectronics Workshop was held July 18-20, 2011, in San Francisco, California. The program focused on applications such as transistors and circuits, displays, sensors, photovoltaics, and optical devices. Speakers included those from industrial laboratories who are actively involved in developing products using organic components. 

2011 World Materials Summit 

The 2011 World Materials Summit was held October 9-12, 2011, in Washington, DC.  It was an invitation-only gathering of technical experts and policymakers who assessed global research and innovation needs for clean energy, including environmental sustainability.  Participants considered materials research as well as advocacy, economics, outreach, and education. 

7th International Dendrimer Symposium (IDS7)  

The 7th International Dendrimer Symposium was held June 26-July 1, 2011, in Gaithersburg, Maryland.  It featured over 185 oral and poster presentations highlighting current research in dendrimers, dendronized polymers and other hyperbranched architectures.  Plenary sessions and talks focused on related topics, including biological studies, drug delivery, computational modeling and catalysis and light harvesting. 

Rosenfest Lectures

The Rosenfest 2011 event was held May 18-20, 2011, in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Speakers discussed Louis Rosen's legacy from the Manhattan Project to MaRIE, including former Lab Directors, and former and current LANSCE Directors.  Dr. Rosen came to Los Alamos to contribute to the Manhattan Project and remained there to foster one of the world's premier centers for nuclear and particle physics.  Speakers included those from LANSCE and LANL.
