Advocacy/Science Policy/Government Agency Sessions

MRS contributes to the development of the U.S. government's science and technology policy in materials-related areas by:

  1. responding to and initiating opportunities to interact with government officials and public and private organizations on matters of science and technology policy,
  2. serving as a resource for reliable, unbiased technical and professional information, and
  3. stimulating responsible technical discussion and facilitating the exchange of information between policy makers, materials scientists, engineers, and the public.

At each meeting, we invite a number of government agency representatives to speak on current priorities and funding opportunities in materials research. Below, you’ll find a list of Government Agency Sessions as well as Advocacy events that will be held during the 2011 MRS Spring Meeting.
