About MRS

Academic Affairs Committee

The Academic Affairs Committee works to engage early career faculty, scientists, post-docs, and (graduate/undergraduate) students to make MRS a home society for them by identifying the educational and professional priorities of younger members, developing, implementing, and managing programs and activities designed to advance the educations and careers of these groups, and proposing and implementing strategies to increase the integration of younger materials scientists in Society activities. The committee is the MRS liaison with the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) and addresses student needs through a variety of ways, including the student chapters, special projects and global initiatives. Programs are intended to engage undergraduate and graduate students, early career faculty and post-doctoral fellow, while enhancing the education of all materials students.

Chair: Sanjay Mathur, University of Cologne
HQ Liaison: Pamela S. Hupp, MRS Outreach Coordinator
