University of Maryland (UMD) TRIGA Reactor and Radiation Facilities Tour
Tuesday, June 26
4:00 pm – 6:00 pm (Includes travel time)

Registered ACNS attendees are invited to tour the University of Maryland (UMD) TRIGA Reactor and Radiation Facilities. The tour will include the gamma irradiator vault (another opportunity to see Cherenkov radiation). The facility is a 15-minute walk from the hotel and the tour will take approximately 1.5 hours, including walking time.

If you are interested in the tour, be sure to check the appropriate box when registering for the Conference. The tour is limited to the first 28 people, so don’t delay. No on-site additions can be accepted.

Once you register, a link will be sent for you to complete a required Visitor Registration form. Proper government-issued ID will be required to gain access to the UMD TRIGA Reactor and radiation facilities.

NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) Tour
Thursday, June 28
1:30 pm – 5:30 pm (Includes travel time)

Registered ACNS attendees are invited to tour the research facilities of the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR). The tour will last roughly one hour, and transportation by bus will be provided for free from the University of Maryland. Alternatively, you may travel to NIST by car. In that case, however, you will be required to show your vehicle registration or rental agreement at the NIST Visitor Center.

If you are interested in the tour, be sure to check the appropriate box when registering for the Conference. The tour is limited to the first 100 people, so don’t delay. No on-site additions can be accepted.

Once you register, a link will be sent for you to complete a required Visitor Registration form. Proper government-issued ID will be required to gain access to NIST.
