2024 MRS Fall Meeting & Exhibit

Reduced Registration Rates for Developing Countries

MRS offers discounted registration rates to its Spring and Fall Meetings for individuals studying or working in developing countries.

In order to serve students and professionals from all economic sectors of the worldwide materials community, MRS offers discounted registration rates to its Spring and Fall Meetings for individuals studying or working in developing countries.

Enrolled students and working professionals from countries defined as Low-Income or Lower-Middle-Income Economies by the World Bank are eligible for these discounted meeting registration rates.

These reduced rates help provide the materials research community more opportunities to connect and learn from others around the globe, furthering the MRS vision of “building a dynamic, interactive, global community of materials researchers.”

How to Qualify

Registrants will automatically receive the discounted rate during the registration process if they have selected an eligible country. Eligible countries are based on those defined as Low-Income and Lower-Middle-Income Economies by the World Bank. Please visit the World Bank website to view the current list of qualifying Low-Income and Lower-Middle-Income countries.

Supporting documentation must be submitted during the registration process and verified by MRS (see further information below). If the documentation does not meet requirements for the developing country discount, MRS reserves the right to change the registration to the appropriate rate and registration will not be confirmed until the balance is paid.

Participation in this special program is not automatically guaranteed or renewed each year and must be approved for each meeting. The maximum student discount period is five years.
