Monday, November 29
6:00 pm – 7:30 pm EST
Sheraton, 2nd Floor, Constitution Ballroom

Moderator: Kalpana Katti, Chair, Career Advancement Committee

This special event will feature a panel discussion about the newly-launched MRS Diversifying Materials Special Interest Groups (SIGs), followed by the opportunity to connect and engage with peers during breakout time.

Special Interest Groups

  • Diversity in Academia
  • Researchers of Color
  • LGBTQ+ Researchers
  • UREM Students
  • Women in Materials Science and Engineering
  • Awards Nominations

These members-only communities have been launched to foster networking and community building around common interests. SIG members cooperate to support members’ careers and stimulate improvements in the materials community by informing each other, advising the Society and potentially organizing activities or programs.

Join us for this thoughtful new approach to community building through diversity, equity and inclusion as envisioned in our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion AspirationThe Materials Research Society embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) by actively engaging our diverse global membership, supporting the careers of underrepresented researchers, and investing in community actions to address bias and end inequities.

Following the program, participants are invited to mingle with
MRS leadership at the President’s Welcome Back Reception.
