The National Network for Manufacturing Innovation (NNMI) is an initiative to accelerate U.S. advanced manufacturing. It is focusing on catalyzing the development of new technologies, educational competencies, production processes and products via shared contributions from the public and private sectors and academia. With this initiative, there has been a large effort dedicated to bridging the gap between applied academia research and industry needs.

This workshop is focused on basic and applied research topics that can revolutionize America’s manufacturing industries. Contributions in the areas of photonics and electronics research that have the potential to lead to product commercialization are of particular interest.

This workshop will bring together a diverse group of academic and industry participants to discuss and collaborate to resolve challenging issues that span from research to commercialization.

Organizers

  • Wei Guo, University of Massachusetts Lowell
  • Shiyun Ruan, Advanced Functional Fabrics of America
  • Liang Feng, University of Pennsylvania
