Design of Efficient Photocatalysts for Solar Fuel Generation by Water Splitting and CO2 Reduction

Converting H2O and CO2 directly to fuels and chemicals by artificial photosynthesis represents one of the most promising strategies in the long run. However, there are still unmet challenges in designing efficient, selective, and stable catalysts for challenging reactions such as oxygen evolution and CO2 reduction. In this presentation, some recent efforts from our lab will be discussed in developing efficient photocatalysts for solar fuel generation, such as Co/Ni/Fe phosphonates, CsPbBr3 QDs/g-C3N4, flame made defective TiO2-x for these photocatalytic reactions.
