Symposium F.EL03—Emerging Low-Dimensional Chalcogenides for Electronics and Photonics
Traditional chalcogenides have been widely explored in the past with potential applications in photovoltaics, thermoelectrics, multiferroics, photoelectrochemical cells, etc. Despite these broad applications of bulk chalcogenides, emerging chalcogenides with low-dimensional crystal structures (i.e. 1D and 2D) provide exciting materials platform with unique electronic and optical properties. This symposium will focus on the latest research of the emerging low-dimensional chalcogenides, and bring together scientists and researchers from academia, national labs, and industry to discuss the current status and future directions. Abstracts are solicited in the areas of interest that include theory, synthesis, and characterization as well as device applications of emerging low-dimensional chalcogenides in photovoltaics, photoelectrochemical, light-emission diodes (LED),optoelectronics, thermoelectrics, multiferroics, and other electronic and photonic devices.
