The following opportunities offer students and post-docs unique experiences at the 2020 MRS Spring Meeting, plus:

Symposium Assistant Positions
Graduate students who are interested in assisting in the symposium sessions during the 2020 MRS Spring Meeting are encouraged to apply for a symposium assistant position.
Symposium assistants deliver essential meeting materials to the technical session rooms, monitor audio-visual equipment and room lighting, track and record attendance and perform other tasks requested by the session chairs.
By assisting in a minimum of two days (four half-day sessions), students will receive a complimentary student registration, a one-year MRS student membership commencing July 1, 2020, and limited financial assistance to help defray expenses. Positions are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
The 2020 MRS Spring Meeting application will be posted February 3, 2020.
Career Central Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to help out at the Career Center during MRS Spring and Fall Meetings. Students and young professionals are encouraged to sign up for one or multiple time-slots to help out onsite during Career Fair hours. Opportunities include:
Professional Development Assistants
Volunteers will assist Career Fair staff by keeping photographer, mock interview and resume critique candidates on schedule, escorting them to the photographer/interviewer at the scheduled time, and tracking scheduled participant attendance.

Materials Voice Booth—Call for Student Volunteers
Several student volunteers are needed to staff the Materials Voice booth.
Energetic student volunteers will encourage passers-by to send an email from the booth to their US Congressional representatives regarding matters of importance to the scientific community.

MRS Meeting Scene—Call for Reporters and Bloggers
Graduate students and post-docs who are interested in contributing to the Meeting Scene newsletter and the Meeting Blog for the full week of the 2020 MRS Spring Meeting are encouraged to apply.
Reporters will be required to attend talks in a variety of symposia and write brief summaries (100-250 words) of four talks each day; bloggers will be required to post at least five items per day and also tweet about their experiences at the meeting. The stipend is $50 for the week.
