Meetings Committee

The Meetings Committee is responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating program content of all Meetings in which the Society participates. This will include technical and non-technical content, tutorials, workshops, electronic content delivery, experiments in new meetings, and co-sponsored, co-located, or other partnered programming. It will evaluate proposed MRS endorsements for external technical meetings; shall seek opportunities to coordinate efforts across the Society and will liaise with the MRS Publications Committee to coordinate topical content between mediums when possible.

The subcommittees are:

Subcommittees

Electronic Media Subcommittee

The Subcommittee will be responsible for developing procedures and a strategy for the implementation of virtual meeting content, shall oversee standards and metadata, shall ensure implementation and infrastructure independently or with a partner, and will approve the portions of the meeting to be delivered electronically.  

Meeting Quality Subcommittee

The Subcommittee will review all major MRS meeting activities (Spring/Fall Meetings, co-sponsored events, workshops, and non-technical activity integration) to ensure quality is maintained across the MRS meeting event spectrum. 

New Meetings Subcommittee

Non-Technical Program Development Subcommittee

The subcommittee shall oversee Fall and Spring Meeting programming outside of the technical content of the meeting with a view to optimizing non-technical activities as an integral part of the meetings, and will be the point of contact for non-technical meetings to be held outside of the Spring and Fall meetings as well.

The subcommittee shall plan and oversee the major multi-symposium society meeting programs (eg Fall, Spring and IMRC ), including tutorials. It will oversee other technical meeting content as these meetings develop.
