Publications Committee
The Publications Committee shall be responsible for the quality of MRS publications and shall provide direction to and review of the society’s print and electronic publications, including journals, books, news, educational and all other publications. It shall oversee general editorial policy, engage in strategic planning and development of the Society’s current and future publications, recommend and work with partner entities where appropriate, and initiate publication focused task forces and subcommittees as deemed necessary by the committee.

Subcommittees
Editors Subcommittee
The Editors Subcommittee shall provide management of editorial processes and ensure quality content in Society publications. This subcommittee will be chaired by a PC member without editorial responsibilities, and will include the Editors-in-chief of each publication, including a News Editor and Educational Outreach Editor.
Publications Quality Subcommittee
The Publications Quality Subcommittee will assess and ensure the quality of MRS publications by performing annual audits of the Society’s publications, and will make recommendations about how to improve quality to the Publications Committee Chair and the Board of Directors. This subcommittee will be populated by volunteers not involved with editorial process to ensure independent evaluation.
New Publications Products Subcommittee
The New Publications Products Subcommittee will both incubate new publications products and provide a point of contact for new publications products generated through grassroots suggestions. This subcommittee will assess the new product ideas vs the MRS values and strategic objectives and put these ideas in common form for analysis by the Board of Directors.
