University Chapters
University Chapters are a vital part of the Materials Research Society. Created on university campuses, their goal is to generate student interest in materials science. At present, MRS boasts approximately 60 active University Chapters throughout the United States—some located at universities granting PhD degrees, others are based at four-year colleges with strong undergraduate research programs.
If there is a Chapter at your college or university, we urge you to join. If there isn’t a Chapter at your location, then maybe you’re the person to get one started. And of course, we invite you to network among Chapters, to compare notes on recent activities and to brainstorm on new projects and issues of common concern.
We invite you to find out more about the benefits of becoming an MRS University Chapter, as well as for information about Chapter Special Projects and a for repository of necessary University Chapter forms by reviewing the chapter handbook at http://www.mrs.org/chapter-handbook/.
