Presentation Guidelines

Oral Presentations

  • Contributed presentations are scheduled for 20 minutes.
  • Presentations are 17 minutes with 3 minutes for questions.
  • Standard audiovisual equipment available includes a laptop computer with Microsoft Operating System, an LCD projector, a screen, pointer and a microphone will be provided in larger rooms.
  • Speakers should bring their presentations on a USB drive and load their presentation on the session computer at the break preceding their presentation time (before the start of the session or during the coffee break). PowerPoint screen size is 16:9.

Poster Presentations

  • Poster boards are aligned in a horizontal format. Each board will be 4’ high by 6’ wide. Your optimal viewing area is 3.5’ x 5’.  Boards will accept push pins which will be available.
  • The following information may assist you in preparing an informative and professional poster display.
  • Print TITLE and AUTHORS in extra-large characters (over 1.25” high) across the top of your display.
  • Display your material in large print so it may be read from a distance. It is important to use text and graphics larger and bolder than those of your manuscript!  Be clear and succinct.
  • Each presentation will be assigned a board and will be labeled with the number of the paper (e.g. PS4) and the presenting author’s name. 

 

Poster Schedule

Posters will be available for viewing Wednesday and Thursday during the breaks as well as during the dedicated Poster Session itself on Wednesday evening at Lagoon Plaza. Please note the important schedule times below.

Wednesday, June 28 (University Center, Lagoon Plaza)

  • Poster Set–up—9:30 am – 3:00 pm
  • Poster Viewing—3:10 pm – 3:30 pm (during afternoon break)
  • Poster Session & Welcome Reception—6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
    *Presenters should stand with their posters during the Poster Session/Welcome Reception to network and answer questions about their presentation. Student poster presenters must attend from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm to present poster and answer questions to be eligible for the Best Student Poster Presentation award. Light refreshments will be provided.

Thursday, June 29 (University Center, Lagoon Plaza)

  • Poster Viewing—10:00 am – 10:20 am and 3:10 pm – 3:30 pm (during morning and afternoon breaks)
  • Tear-Down—By 5:30 pm
    *It is extremely important that you remove your poster by the tear down deadline. Posters not removed by the deadline will be discarded.
