The Kavli Foundation Early Career Lectureship in Materials Science includes a $1,000 cash prize, trophy and two nights hotel to attend the Meeting to present a talk.
Nomination Information
The nomination will be submitted through the MRS Awards Nomination Submission Website portal.
Required information for the application includes:
- Name and email address of nominee
- Name and email address of nominator
- Date nominee's Ph.D. was received; Issuing institution
- Brief statement of recommendation (200 words or less), including nominee's research activity and why you feel it qualifies him or her for The Kavli Foundation Early Career Lectureship in Materials Science (emphasize the creative nature of the candidate's work and the potential for future leadership). This PDF document will be on letterhead and signed by the nominator.
- A copy of nominee's latest curriculum vitae (PDF document, two pages maximum)
- A one page summary of his/her main contributions to science. The candidate should also describe very briefly his/her good citizenship, i.e. outreach, membership in MRS committees, and/or in the research organization they are a member of.
Rules and Eligibility
Nominees should:
- Be within 10 years of having received a Ph.D. (or terminal degree) at the time of the published deadline
- Work as an assistant professor, associate professor, full professor or a non-postdoctoral, permanent staff member in a national laboratory or industry
- Have already made a significant contribution to materials research and clearly have a promising future
